Film and television performance and acting courses for the entertainment industry
From introductory courses to training in preparation for film and television castings, and acting auditions, Cardiff Bay based The Workshop in South Wales offers the full performance training package.
Introductory acting courses
The Workshop offers performance training to young people from the age of 9 years and upwards, through regular introductory courses. These coincide with school and college term dates and are held at The Workshop's studio space in Cardiff Bay. Each course consists of ten once-weekly practical training sessions.
Training performance skills for drama
Our training is designed to encourage the performance skills required for work in film and television. We concentrate on developing each student's acting technique, specifically for dramas.
At the same time, many of the skills learnt can be applied to other areas of media work, such as presentation and interview technique.
The starting step for you as an actor
After completing our introductory course, some students will be invited to join The Workshop and continue with their training. All the courses take place at The Workshop's studio space in the centre of Cardiff.
On joining The Workshop, members receive weekly training sessions in a variety of performance skills to prepare them for film and television work.
The Workshop has approximately one hundred and fifty members. Our students come from mixed backgrounds and provide a culturally diverse pool for casting directors and production companies.
"The Workshop is amazing and great fun. If you want the chance of auditioning for a film or TV drama, it’s the place to be."
