Peter Wooldridge

Based in Cardiff, South Wales, Peter specialises in discovering and training new talent for work in film and television. With forty years' experience, his training workshops have introduced several established Welsh actors to the industry, notably Ioan Gruffudd and Owain Yeoman, both of whom are now based in America. Closer to home, BAFTA Cymru award winning actress Mali Harries started her acting career at The Workshop, along with Adrian Lewis Morgan, known for his portrayal of Jimmi Clay on the daytime Soap, ‘Doctors’. More recent talented and aspiring actors include Catrin Stewart, Lloyd Everitt, Hannah Daniel, Craig Roberts and Gerran Howell. They all started their careers at The Workshop.

During the last fifteen years, he has also worked as a casting director and acting coach on a number of high-profile international feature films. His recent credits include ‘The Killer Elite’ (UK casting) starring Jason Statham, Robert de Niro and Clive Owen; ‘Nightwatching’, written and directed by Peter Greenaway, with Martin Freeman starring as Dutch artist, Rembrandt. This followed another Greenaway epic, a trilogy of films entitled ‘The Tulse Luper Suitcases’. Working with Oscar nominated Dutch director Ben Sombogaart, he cast the Dutch classic ‘Kruistocht in Spijkerbroek’ and assisted on the casting of another Dutch film, ‘Bride Flight’.

Closer to home, his credits include BAFTA Cymru award winning feature ‘Undertaking Betty’ starring Brenda Blethyn, Alfred Molina, Christopher Walken and Naomi Watts; ‘Summer Scars’ for Prolific Films and Arthur’s Dyke starring Pauline Quirke for Channel 4 Films. His work as a commercials casting director has included work for Amazon and eBay, together with several infomercials for the Welsh assembly Government. He is currently attached to another Dutch project.
